Volunteers of America's Residential Family Center, which opened in October 2009, is designed to see to the needs of couples with children as well as parenting singles with 62 beds, providing three meals daily as well as support services including transportation to-and-from school for the children in residence, transitional and permanent housing referrals, and education and job-search information.

center's Feb. 23 dedication event.

HomeAid Sacramento, the North State Building Industry Association, and Standard Pacific Homes were among those honored during the dedication ceremony of the new Residential Family Center Feb. 23.

Lacin/Christophel Mural & Design, which donated a bright and colorful mural for the children's recreation area, was recognized as were the almost 20 companies and supporters who made this center possible.

Among those thanked were: A1 Doors, Bank of America, Book of Dreams of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, Brady Seal, Creative Touch Interiors, Mark Eglington, Frazee Paint, Kelly Moore Paint Company, Legacy Plumbing, LMI Shower Doors, Marble Palace, Matrix Surfaces, Production Framing, Redline Drywall, Rescue Concrete, Mark Scangarella Painting, Studio 81 International, University Art, Vasiliou Construction, and Mark Eglington of Meritage Homes.
